Teh Tarik - My version

Teh tarik (literally “pulled tea”) is a hot tea beverage which can be commonly found in restaurants, outdoor stalls and kopi tiams in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. Its very strong as compared to usual milk tea and perfect for early morning caffeine kick or a rainy day beverage.

I made my Teh tarik with no extra sugar and added some extra milk for the lovely caramel color. Also I did not create foam by transferring the tea back and forth using vessels I was just happy with its richness and strength as is.

Recipe

1 250 ml mug

1 table spoon powdered tea (I used Indian Tea- Red Label)

1 table spoon condensed milk (I added some extra tablespoons of milk for color)

boiling water

Method

 1. Put 1tbsp of powdered tea into a mug.

2. Add boiling water and leave the tea to mix for about five minutes.

3. Sieve and transfer the tea into another mug. Add condensed milk. Stir well.

4. Serve in a mug while still hot.
